Charlie far left enlisted in the Saskatoon Light Infantry (MG) September 1939. He left Saskatoon Dec 4 1939 for Halifax Nova Scotia and then went overseas on the Duchess of Bedford. He landed at the King George Locks in Glasgow   Dec 19, 1939. Charlie was then transferred to the R.C.O.C. in 1942. At the fall of Crete they formed a new detachment to keep the Infantry supplied when they invaded France. He went France early  July and on through to  Germany and finally returned to Canada in July 1945.

Charlie is a very active member of our branch and gives a lot of his time and expertise to  branch projects.  He is a    52 year member of the Legion and because of his work and dedication to our Branch he was awarded Valley City Br36 Legionnaire of the year award in 2004.

Charlie continues and hopefully will continue for a long time to come to be an asset to our branch, as we hope all our Veterans will be.
